In a tragic turn of events in Jackson, Mississippi, 23-year-old Sharice Fowler, a female, was found deceased on Saturday, December 14, 2024. Her body, along with that of 26-year-old Darius Kyles, was discovered in the carport of a residence on West Hill Drive. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds.
The Jackson Police Department's investigation concluded that the incident was a murder-suicide. Detectives determined that Kyles shot and killed Fowler before turning the gun on himself. When authorities arrived at the home to conduct a welfare check, they made the grim discovery. Inside the residence, they found four children, ranging in age from two to seven, who were physically unharmed.
It is believed that the children had been alone in the house for several days following the deaths of Fowler and Kyles. After being discovered, the children were transported to a local hospital for evaluation and Child Protective Services was contacted to ensure their care. The investigation did not lead to any arrests as the perpetrator was deceased at the scene.
