Shakira Gatlin, a 19-year-old member of the Dancing Dolls For Life (DD4L) dance troupe, tragically lost her life on February 2, 2022, in Jackson, Mississippi. She was fatally shot at a home on the 100 block of Barnes Street. According to Jackson police, Gatlin was shot in the head while an underaged male was mishandling a gun. The young man involved in the incident was questioned by authorities and claimed that the shooting was accidental.
