A dedicated employee at the Mississippi State Hospital, she was remembered by loved ones for her happy demeanor and constant smile. Her life was cut short in a violent domestic incident that unfolded at a residence on Twin Oaks Drive, a neighborhood situated in the capital city.
The events of that Friday began when Billingsley was confronted by her ex-boyfriend at the home. Authorities later pieced together that the encounter escalated rapidly into a fatal shooting. Jackson Police Department officers were dispatched to the scene following reports of gunfire. Upon their arrival at the property on Twin Oaks Drive, investigators discovered a harrowing scene indicating that extreme violence had taken place within the residence.
Inside, officers found Billingsley suffering from fatal gunshot wounds. Near her body, they also discovered the body of the male suspect, identified as her former romantic partner.
