In a tragic turn of events that unfolded in a quiet Jackson, Mississippi neighborhood, Melinda 'Mindy' Pace, a 58-year-old woman with an intellectual disability, lost her life on July 22, 2013. The home she shared with her older sister on Meadowhill Road became a scene of violence when a heated argument between the siblings escalated with deadly consequences. The person responsible for this act was her own sister and caregiver, 60-year-old Nancy Pace. After shooting Mindy, Nancy turned the gun on herself in an apparent murder-suicide attempt.
