Kennedy LaShae Hobbs, an 18-year-old from Jackson, Mississippi, tragically lost her life on June 1, 2021, just hours after graduating from Murrah High School. Hobbs was fatally shot at a Texaco gas station on Medgar Evers Boulevard around 11 p.m. She had been shot multiple times and died at the scene. The incident occurred after she had visited the cemetery where her boyfriend, who had been murdered in April, was buried. Hobbs had left her graduation tassel on his tombstone earlier that day.
