On Mother's Day, May 8, 1994, a night of socializing turned tragic for 19-year-old Mario Valentino 'Tino' Brooks. The young man from Duncan, Oklahoma, was at the Family Barbecue Social Club just outside of Tatums with his older brother, Corey. A festive atmosphere descended into chaos when a fight broke out.
