In the fading daylight of a March evening in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 25-year-old Isaac Wogu was brought to an abrupt and violent end. On Saturday, March 15, 2014, Wogu was shot and killed, a tragic event that would soon lead to the arrest of a young couple.

The incident unfolded around 5 p.m. at the Savanna Landing apartment complex, located near East 61st Street and South Peoria Avenue. Responding to a call about a shooting, Tulsa police officers arrived to find a grim scene. Wogu had sustained a gunshot wound to his upper torso and was lying on the ground in the parking lot. Despite the efforts of paramedics who rushed him to a nearby hospital, he succumbed to his injuries.

Investigators quickly pieced together the events leading to the fatal confrontation. Witnesses reported that Wogu had been involved in an argument with a woman, later identified as 19-year-old Deouijanea Terry. The dispute, which began as a verbal altercation, escalated dramatically when a man, identified as 20-year-old Rontayvious Timmons, emerged from an apartment. Timmons allegedly fired the shot that struck Wogu, turning a heated argument into a homicide.

Following the shooting, Terry and Timmons fled the scene, sparking a search by law enforcement. Their freedom, however, was short-lived. Just hours later, at approximately 10 p.m. that same evening, both suspects were located and taken into custody by the Tulsa Police Department's Fugitive Warrants squad. They were found at an apartment complex near East 31st Street and South 129th East Avenue, miles from the scene of the crime.

Deouijanea Terry and Rontayvious Timmons were both arrested on complaints of first-degree murder. Investigators stated that Terry was believed to have been an active participant in the altercation that led to Wogu's death. The swift arrests brought a quick, though not entirely comforting, resolution to the initial phase of the investigation into the violent death of Isaac Wogu.
