In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a 20-year-old female named Griselda Gallardo was fatally shot on Sunday, October 5, 2014, while at her job at a Papa John's pizza restaurant. The incident prompted a search for the suspect, identified as 24-year-old Joshua Silkey.
Authorities believed that Silkey had developed a romantic interest in Gallardo, which she did not reciprocate. On that Sunday afternoon, Silkey entered the Papa John's where Gallardo was working and shot her.
Following the shooting, a manhunt for Silkey was initiated by multiple law enforcement agencies, including the Tulsa Police Department, the Oklahoma Highway Patrol, and U.S. Marshals.
The search for Silkey extended into the next day. On Monday, October 6, 2014, police were led to a wooded area after a resident reported hearing a single gunshot. There, they discovered Joshua Silkey's body. The investigation concluded that he had died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
