Do you know who murdered Carol? On an autumn evening in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 41-year-old Carol Susan Hurtubise was tragically cut short. On October 17, 1994, two young men approached her home at 506 E. 59th Place North. Her 18-year-old son answered the door and was confronted by the two individuals who demanded money. Hearing the commotion, Carol, a mother of seven and a school bus driver for Tulsa Public Schools, went to the front door to see what was happening.
As she stood in her doorway, one of the suspects
fired a single shot, striking her in the throat. The two young men, described as Black male teens, fled the scene. The first suspect was described as being 5'5' and 135 lbs, wearing a red and white striped shirt, shorts, and a hat. The second suspect was described as 5'9' and 120 lbs, wearing a black t-shirt and blue overalls.
Despite the passage of time, the case of Carol Susan Hurtubise's murder remains open and unsolved. No arrests have been made, and the two individuals responsible for her senseless death have never been brought to justice. The Tulsa Police Department continues to seek information from the public that might lead to a breakthrough in this cold case.
