On October 17, 1994, Carol Sue Hurtubise, 41, was tragically shot and killed in front of her home in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The incident occurred when her 18-year-old son was confronted by two young men outside their residence on East 59th Place North. The two men demanded money from her son, and Carol, hearing the commotion, came to the front door to see what was happening.
