On May 14, 1991, Robertina Inez Hellman, aged 18, was found murdered in her apartment at the Eagle Point Apartments in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Robertina's apartment was discovered by the apartment manager, who was alerted by neighbors noticing her door open for an unusual amount of time. Upon entry, the manager found the apartment had been ransacked, and Robertina was found in the bathroom with her head submerged in water.
