In the early morning hours of March 15, 2023, just two days shy of her 20th birthday, Braylee Ann Owens was tragically killed in her Tulsa, Oklahoma, apartment. The 19-year-old female was lying in her bed with her boyfriend at the Cobblestone Apartments when multiple gunshots were fired into her second-floor bedroom window. One of the bullets struck Braylee in the head, and she was pronounced dead after being transported to a local hospital.
Her boyfriend was not physically harmed in the incident.
Braylee was born in Tulsa on March 17, 2003, and was raised in nearby Broken Arrow, where she was active in soccer and cheerleading. Described as having an outgoing personality, she was known for her love of pulling pranks, her fondness for babies, and her enjoyment of music and spending time with friends and family. She graduated from Epic in 2021 and had worked as a receptionist.
The investigation into Braylee's death led to the identification and arrest of three suspects. Sytney Sinan, 19, was the first to be taken into custody and was charged with first-degree murder and shooting a gun from a vehicle. Subsequently, 18-year-old Braylon Brown and 15-year-old Cameron Green turned themselves in to the Tulsa County Courthouse. They were also wanted in connection with the homicide. While authorities have not released a definitive motive for the shooting, they have stated that they do not believe Braylee was the intended target.
