On March 29, 1989, 17-month-old Kasey Wald was tragically found dead in her burning apartment in Tulsa, Oklahoma. Kasey and her mother, Carol Sue Pittman, were discovered after a fire broke out in their residence at the Woodcreek Apartment complex. Initially, it was believed that both victims had died from smoke inhalation. However, further investigation revealed that Carol had been strangled before the fire, while Kasey died from smoke inhalation, making it a double homicide.
