On July 10, 2011, 27-year-old Kanisha Jackson and her boyfriend, Bryan Mitchell, were found shot to death inside their home in North Tulsa. Jackson, a teaching assistant at Hawthorne Elementary and a mother of a five-year-old daughter, was tragically killed in what police believe was a targeted attack, possibly aimed at Mitchell due to his involvement in drugs and prior criminal activities.
