On a late spring morning, the life of 26-year-old Angelo Lamont Roberson, a male resident of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, was tragically cut short. Just before 10 a.m. on May 22, 2016, Roberson was discovered in his vehicle outside the Good Time Market located in the 4500 block of S. Sunnylane Road. He had been shot multiple times. Emergency services rushed him to a local hospital, but he succumbed to his injuries the next day.
His death marked the 26th homicide in the city for that year.
The events leading to his death unfolded rapidly. While Roberson was sitting in his car, another vehicle approached and stopped behind him. At least two individuals exited the second vehicle, opened fire on Roberson, and fled the scene. The brazen attack left the community shaken and law enforcement searching for answers. Within days, the investigation gained significant momentum. On May 25, 2016, authorities made arrests in connection with the fatal shooting. The Oklahoma City police took two teenagers into custody: 18-year-old Daequan Gay and 16-year-old Tanish Love. Both were apprehended and subsequently booked into the Oklahoma County Jail. Authorities believe Gay and Love were the individuals who approached Roberson's car and fired the deadly shots.
