On April 24, 2023, 20-year-old Robenie Wayne "RJ" Long Jr. was fatally shot on the campus of Rose State College in Midwest City, Oklahoma. The incident occurred near the Humanities building, where Long was walking with a female student. Authorities reported that 30-year-old Brandon Morrissette, the estranged husband of the female student, approached the pair and, during a confrontation, shot Long once with a pistol.
