In the autumn of 2016, a fatal encounter unfolded at a Tulsa, Oklahoma motel, culminating in the death of 51-year-old Rodney McGee. The evening of November 18th began with a gathering in a room at the Holiday Express Motel, where a group of people were drinking and using drugs. An argument broke out between James Mahdavi and two other individuals, including McGee. The dispute led to Mahdavi being asked to leave the room.
