On a summer night in Tulsa, Oklahoma, the life of 28-year-old Brad Lyles, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On July 14, 2013, while visiting his family at the Western Pines apartment complex on South Maybelle Avenue, Lyles was ambushed. He was discovered lying in a doorway with a gunshot wound to the abdomen. His twin brother was among the family members present at the complex who heard the gunshots and found him.
