On September 28, 2011, 26-year-old Ernest Dixon was shot and killed outside his home in North Tulsa. The incident occurred around 7 p.m. when Dixon and three other individuals were sitting in front of a house in the 700 block of East 42nd Street North. A group of armed men approached and opened fire, firing over 30 rounds in what police later described as an organized, tactical attack.
