On March 17, 1986, 58-year-old Vernon Abdoo was brutally attacked and murdered while walking home from a liquor store in Tulsa, Oklahoma. The incident occurred around 7:30 p.m. near 1600 N. Lewis Avenue. An unknown suspect, described as a black male with a slender build, approached Abdoo, poured a flammable liquid on him, and set him on fire, laughing during the assault.
