In Tulsa, Oklahoma, a young man's life was cut short in a burst of violence that unfolded in the parking lot of a convenience store. Jeremy Armstrong, a 19-year-old male, was fatally shot on the evening of March 20, 2017, during what authorities believe was a drug deal that spiraled into a deadly robbery. The incident occurred at the Apache Food Mart, located near the intersection of Apache and Yale.
According to police, Armstrong was involved in a transaction with at least two other
individuals when an attempt was made to rob him. As he tried to escape the dangerous situation, a gunshot rang out, striking him. Despite his grave injury, Armstrong managed to flee the scene and make his way to his home on North Vandalia Avenue. It was from there that a desperate call for help was made to 911. Paramedics arrived and rushed him to a nearby hospital, but tragically, his wounds proved to be fatal, and he succumbed to his injuries.
The investigation into the homicide led Tulsa police to identify an 18-year-old as the primary suspect in the shooting. Dominique Brown was located and apprehended by the Fugitive Warrants Group near East Marshall Street and North Santa Fe Place. At the time of his arrest, Brown was found to be in possession of a handgun. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with Jeremy Armstrong's death. While one suspect was in custody, investigators have stated their belief that another person was involved in the incident. However, the identity of this second individual has not been released to the public as the investigation continues.
