On the evening of November 5, 2020, a tragic series of events unfolded at the Meadowbrook Apartments near Admiral and Mingo in Tulsa, Oklahoma, culminating in the death of 28-year-old Jeremiah Kevin Gene Goleman, a White/Caucasian male. The incident began when a car crashed into a building within the apartment complex. Goleman, who was in the vehicle, fled from the scene of the accident on foot.
As he was running, a suspect opened fire, striking Goleman in the upper torso.
The wound proved to be fatal, and he passed away that same day. The aftermath of the shooting saw a swift response from the Tulsa Police Department, who quickly launched an investigation into the homicide. Their efforts led to the identification and arrest of a suspect shortly after the incident.
The individual taken into custody was identified as 16-year-old Zachariah Stevenson. He was subsequently charged with the murder of Jeremiah Goleman. Due to the severity of the crime, the decision was made to try Stevenson as an adult. While the motive for the shooting was not made immediately clear to the public, the arrest brought a suspect before the justice system. The case against Stevenson was scheduled to proceed to trial in June of 2022.
