In September of 2017, a dispute in the parking lot of a north Tulsa convenience store tragically escalated, cutting short the life of 38-year-old Walter Hogan. On that Friday evening, a fight involving several people broke out at Haney's Store. During the altercation, a handgun was produced, and shots were fired. Hogan was struck by the gunfire and was rushed to a local hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
A woman was also wounded by a stray bullet during the incident but survived her injuries.
The immediate aftermath of the shooting left investigators with a chaotic scene, as most of the witnesses and the suspect had fled before officers arrived. However, the investigation into Hogan's death led to several arrests. In November 2017, authorities took two suspects into custody, identified as Breanna Bell and Bryan Willis, and subsequently filed murder charges against them.
Further investigation identified a third individual, 17-year-old Robert Nataski Cowan, also known as 'Lul Robbie,' as the alleged shooter. Authorities stated that Bell drove Willis and Cowan to the convenience store where an argument between several females escalated. This led to a male friend of one of the women punching Robert Cowan. It was then that Willis reportedly produced a handgun and fatally shot Walter Hogan. In addition to Bell and Willis, two other individuals, Bryin Willis and Reunique Reed, were also taken into custody in connection with the case.
