On July 6, 2009, Otis Colbert, a 37-year-old resident of Tulsa, Oklahoma, was fatally shot during a home invasion at a residence near 2nd and Sandusky. The incident took place when Colbert, who was staying with his girlfriend, heard a noise at the front door while they were asleep. When he went to investigate, Colbert was shot in the chin. He was rushed to the hospital but ultimately succumbed to his injuries a month later, on August 9, 2009.
