In the early morning hours of a Sunday in April 2007, a dispute that began at an East Tulsa nightclub tragically escalated, ending the life of 20-year-old Terrance Buckner. After leaving the club, Buckner and two friends, who were unharmed, were driving in his silver pickup truck when they stopped at a convenience store at 21st and Garnett. There, an argument with another group of men reignited.
Shortly after leaving the convenience store, a shootout began.
As Buckner drove onto the Broken Arrow Expressway near Garnett, multiple shots were fired at his truck. He was struck and killed. The case remained unsolved for over a decade, a cold file in the Tulsa Police Department's records.
Years later, a breakthrough emerged. A witness came forward in April 2021 and again in January 2022, providing crucial information that pointed to Christopher Price, also known as 'quarter top,' as the shooter. The witness revealed that the two groups were rival gang members. Based on this new testimony, the Tulsa County District Attorney charged Price with murder in the first degree, use of a vehicle in discharging a weapon, and two counts of shooting with intent to kill.
After a nine-month search, authorities located and arrested Christopher Price in May 2023. The arrest was a significant development in a case that had lain dormant for nearly 15 years, bringing a long-awaited sense of progress for those affected by the violent death of Terrance Buckner.
