Allen Wayne Bennett, age 29, was murdered on January 18, 1985, in Tulsa, Oklahoma. He was found shot to death in a parking lot located at 6960 E. 38th Street around 5:51 a.m. Evidence from the scene indicated that Bennett had also been struck by an unknown vehicle, which fled after the shooting. Despite initial progress in the investigation, including charges filed against a suspect, those charges were ultimately dismissed due to lack of sufficient evidence to proceed.
