In the early morning hours of Sunday, November 5, 2017, a sense of tragedy befell a north Tulsa neighborhood. Byron Roland, a 27-year-old Black/African American male, was visiting a friend's house when his life was abruptly cut short. As he approached the residence, an unknown assailant, who had been lying in wait in the bushes across the street, opened fire.
