On the evening of May 25, 2018, the life of 45-year-old Agustina Vasquez, a Hispanic female, was tragically cut short in an act of violence that stunned the community of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma. Police were summoned to the Windsong Village Apartments, located near Interstate 240 and South Walker Avenue, at approximately 9:30 p.m., where they made a grim discovery.
Inside one of the apartments, officers found the bodies of Agustina Vasquez and a 49-year-old man, Martin Romero.
Both had sustained fatal gunshot wounds. The initial investigation by homicide detectives led them to believe that the incident was a murder-suicide. It is thought that Romero shot and killed Vasquez before turning the weapon on himself.
As the investigation progressed, the evidence continued to point towards this tragic sequence of events, and the final determination was left to the medical examiner. With the perpetrator deceased, there were no other suspects to pursue, and consequently, no arrests were made in connection with Vasquez's death. The case was largely considered closed by law enforcement, leaving friends and family to mourn the sudden and violent loss of a loved one.
