A Black male known for his charming personality and 'Big Boy' confidence, he was a devoted father, a dependable son, and a loyal friend. Having graduated from McLain High School for Science and Technology in 2012, where he was a defensive tackle for the football team and a member of the school choir, he was a well-regarded member of his community.
In 2016, his character was publicly recognized when he received a 'Good Samaritan Award' from the Tulsa Fire Department for his quick actions in preventing a potentially serious fire.
On December 7, 2018, DonTrae Mason was fatally shot in what was investigated by the Tulsa Police Department as a double homicide. The incident prompted an immediate and thorough investigation by law enforcement.
