In the summer of 2019, the life of 49-year-old Mary Loving was tragically cut short in Tulsa, Oklahoma. On July 29th, her body was discovered, having been left outside the OSU Medical Center downtown. The circumstances of her death were immediately suspicious, prompting an investigation by the medical examiner.
Authorities quickly identified a person of interest in the case: Mary's 50-year-old husband, Illy Lynn Roach. It was alleged that Roach had shot his wife and was now on the run.
The search for Roach intensified after he reportedly appeared at a relative's home, who then contacted the police. His vehicle was later found abandoned near Apache and MLK Boulevard, leading investigators to believe he might be hiding in the nearby woods.
For over a month, Roach managed to evade capture. The search for him continued until he was finally apprehended on a Sunday in September. Police located and arrested him near the 5600 block of North Utica Avenue, bringing an end to the manhunt. Following his arrest, Illie Roach was jailed as the primary suspect in the death of his wife, Mary Loving.
