In December 2019, a young woman's life was tragically cut short in Oklahoma City. Twenty-year-old Montanah Sullivan was riding in a vehicle with another woman, 21-year-old Grace Huff, when a gun was discharged inside the car. The bullet struck Sullivan, who was rushed to a local hospital with a gunshot wound. Despite medical efforts, she was ultimately pronounced dead.
Following the shooting, Grace Huff was arrested in connection with Sullivan's death.
Investigators alleged that Huff was the one who fired the gun in the vehicle, leading to the fatal injury of her companion. She was subsequently charged with first-degree murder.
The legal proceedings that followed saw Grace Huff found guilty of first-degree manslaughter. Initially, she was sentenced to 10 years in prison for the death of Montanah Sullivan. However, in a later review of her sentence, a judge reduced it to two years of house arrest. As part of the revised sentence, Huff was also ordered to pay restitution to Sullivan's family.
