In the early hours of a Thursday morning, the life of a young Black/African American man, Jeffrey Hardnett, was tragically cut short. At the age of 25, Hardnett was shot multiple times just after midnight on May 22, 2014, in Beloit, Wisconsin. The overnight violence also left another man, who was 26 years old at the time, wounded by the gunfire. While the second victim received medical treatment at a local hospital and was subsequently released, Hardnett succumbed to his injuries.
