In the late summer of 2014, the life of a 24-year-old Black / African American man, Tavion Milams, was tragically cut short on the streets of Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Known in the local music scene as an aspiring rapper who performed under the name Tay Gutta, Milams was shot and killed on September 8, 2014. His death was the result of a confrontation over a drug debt, an altercation that ended in what was described as a friendly fire incident.
