August S. Ayala, aged 19, was fatally shot on October 22, 2011, in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago. He was killed near the 2800 block of West 25th Street, an area that has been known for frequent violence due to ongoing gang conflicts. The incident occurred late at night while Ayala was walking near his home. An assailant approached him and opened fire, striking him multiple times. Despite being rushed to Mount Sinai Hospital, Ayala succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.
