Carlos Casas, a 30-year-old man, was fatally shot on July 29, 2024, in Chicago, Illinois. The incident occurred in the East Side neighborhood, specifically in the 9800-block of South Avenue J. According to Chicago police, the shooting happened before 9:16 p.m..

Casas was found with a gunshot wound to his chest and was taken to the hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries. He was identified by the Cook County medical examiner as the victim of the shooting.
