Sterling R. Pledge Jr., a 39-year-old African American male, was tragically found dead on July 6, 2020, in Chicago, Illinois. He was discovered with a gunshot wound to the chest in the 900 block of South Independence Boulevard in the Lawndale neighborhood. The Cook County medical examiner's office confirmed his identity and the cause of death as a homicide due to the gunshot wound.
