In the early hours of a Monday morning, on August 22, 2016, the life of 18-year-old Claude Grimes was cut short by gunfire in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The young Black / African American man was discovered by a police officer who was patrolling the area near 18th and Hadley Streets around 12:40 a.m.. The officer had been drawn to the location after a ShotSpotter activation indicated that shots had been fired.
