In the early morning hours of Sunday, September 18, 2022, the life of 17-year-old Prestin Gill-Pate, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short by gunfire in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. The shooting occurred just after midnight near the intersection of 71st Street and Hampton Avenue. Prestin was a senior at Madison High School and was on the cusp of starting his first job at Footlocker, a future filled with promise that was violently extinguished.
