William Brooks, 21, a Black male from Milwaukee, was shot and killed on the evening of Thursday, October 16, 2025, near North 39th Street and West Capitol Drive. Police and the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office identified him at the scene shortly after 7 p.m., where he died from his injuries.

Investigators said shots were fired from inside a car, striking Brooks outside a car repair shop along Capitol Drive. Family described him as a fun, loving young father who went by “Will, ...
