In the early hours of April 24, 2015, a violent encounter in Yakima, Washington, claimed the life of 38-year-old Jesse Marquez, a Hispanic male. The incident occurred at approximately 1:02 a.m. in front of a residence at 511 South Naches Avenue. Marquez was shot a single time in the abdomen, the bullet from what was possibly a 9mm handgun tearing through his body and exiting his back. The gunshot struck the iliac artery, causing substantial and rapid blood loss.
