In the early hours of a Tuesday in Yakima, Washington, on June 21, 2022, the life of 32-year-old Juan Carlos Zavala was cut short in a burst of gunfire. A Hispanic male, Zavala was in the parking lot of the Rocky Mart convenience store on West Nob Hill Boulevard, working on his car when the fatal encounter occurred. An employee of the store and another individual were reportedly assisting him with a tire.
