In the early hours of a Tuesday in Yakima, Washington, on June 21, 2022, the life of 32-year-old Juan Carlos Zavala was cut short in a burst of gunfire. A Hispanic male, Zavala was in the parking lot of the Rocky Mart convenience store on West Nob Hill Boulevard, working on his car when the fatal encounter occurred.
