On New Year's Eve 2016, a gathering in Federal Way, Washington, turned tragic, ending the life of 21-year-old Davary V. Hicks. A Black/African American male, Hicks was attending a party in the 32100 block of 46th Place Southwest in the early morning hours of December 31st when a dispute erupted over allegedly stolen property. The items in question were reportedly an iPhone and an Xbox.
