On a summer evening in Federal Way, Washington, the life of 26-year-old Hispanic man, Omero Garcia Mendez, was tragically cut short. On August 14, 2008, Mendez was patiently waiting at the Lakota Middle School campus to pick up his girlfriend's son. The ordinary task took a fatal turn when he was confronted by three individuals in an SUV.
