In the early morning hours of September 19, 2024, a tragedy unfolded at the Avana Star Lake Apartments in Federal Way, Washington, claiming the life of 25-year-old Enrique Bermudez, a Hispanic male. At approximately 1:01 a.m., Federal Way police officers were dispatched to the apartment complex located at 2211 S. Star Lake Road following reports of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, officers discovered a vehicle that had crashed into several other cars.
Inside the crashed vehicle, they found Bermudez suffering from life-threatening injuries. Despite the immediate life-saving efforts of both police and fire personnel who responded to the scene, Enrique Bermudez was pronounced deceased. The King County Medical Examiner's office later confirmed that Bermudez's death was a homicide caused by multiple gunshot wounds.
As of late September 2024, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting. The Federal Way Police Department's detectives were actively investigating the incident, working to identify and locate any possible suspects or witnesses. Authorities have urged anyone with information regarding the shooting to come forward and contact the department to assist in the ongoing investigation.
