On April 4, 2024, a tragic incident occurred in Federal Way, Washington, resulting in the death of 2-year-old Synsyr Lewis. The shooting took place in the parking lot of an IHOP restaurant on 178 Southwest Campus Drive, just before 10 a.m. Synsyr was in a car with his father, Tyrell Lewis, and his 1-year-old brother when the attack happened.
