Martin Tejeda, a 16-year-old boy from Chicago, Illinois, was killed on July 12, 2012, in what appeared to be a gang-related shooting. On that day, two unidentified gunmen approached from behind a tree and opened fire, catching Tejeda and a 15-year-old friend off guard. As they tried to flee, Martin Tejeda was fatally shot, while his friend managed to survive the attack.
