James McKnight, a 44-year-old man, was fatally shot in the early hours of March 16, 2025, in Chicago’s Old Town neighborhood. Officers responded to a call at approximately 2:30 a.m. and discovered McKnight suffering from a gunshot wound to the abdomen inside an apartment building located in the 1300 block of North Hudson Avenue. Emergency responders administered CPR at the scene before transporting him to Northwestern Memorial Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 4:24 a.m.
