In a quiet, middle-class neighborhood in Louisville, Kentucky, the lives of ten-year-old Randy Nicole 'Nikki' Coontz and her fourteen-year-old brother, Gregory Louis Coontz, were tragically cut short. On March 27, 2008, the siblings, a fourth-grader at McFerran Elementary and an eighth-grader at Noe Middle School respectively, were found deceased in their beds, both having suffered multiple gunshot wounds.
