In the quiet neighborhood of Okolona in Louisville, Kentucky, the life of 20-year-old Tracey Leigh Brock was tragically cut short on Friday, March 25, 2016. A graduate of Tapp School in 2012 and a former employee at Siemens, Tracey was a young mother to her daughter, Adrianna Leigh Brock. She was known by friends as a good person who was deeply loved and a devoted mother who tried to always be there for her child.
On that fateful day, Tracey was shot and killed in her home on Altsheler
Place. The man identified as the perpetrator was her live-in boyfriend, 24-year-old Stuart Cox. Immediately following the shooting, a neighbor witnessed a silver car speeding away from the residence, pursued by a small black dog. This vehicle was driven by Cox as he fled the scene.
The attempt to apprehend Cox turned into a dramatic high-speed chase that stretched across four counties along Interstate 65. Kentucky State Police troopers spotted Cox's vehicle near Bowling Green and attempted to pull him over. He refused to stop, leading police on a pursuit at high speeds. The chase came to an end when Cox lost control of his car and crashed off the side of the road. He was then taken into custody.
Stuart Cox was subsequently arrested and charged with the murder of Tracey Brock. The incident left friends of the couple in a state of shock and disbelief, as they mourned the loss of Tracey and grappled with the violent actions of the man she lived with. The community was left to remember a young woman whose life was taken too soon, leaving behind a grieving family and a young daughter.
