In the quiet neighborhood of Shelby Park in Louisville, Kentucky, a tragedy unfolded that cut short the life of 60-year-old Anthony W. McIntyre. On February 12, 2017, McIntyre was found deceased inside his apartment on East Saint Catherine Street, the victim of a fatal shooting. The discovery of his body marked the beginning of a homicide investigation that would soon lead to the apprehension of two individuals.
A United States Navy veteran, McIntyre's life was brought to a violent end, leaving a community in search of answers.
The investigation into McIntyre's death moved swiftly. Five days after the discovery of his body, on February 17, 2017, the Louisville Metro Police Department made their first arrest in the case. Anthony D. Boyington, 38 years old at the time, was taken into custody and charged with murder and burglary in the first degree.
