In the early morning hours of August 17, 2017, an altercation between two acquaintances in the Imperial Estates mobile home park on West Loudon Avenue in Lexington, Kentucky, ended in tragedy. Adan Perez Mejia, a 25-year-old male, was shot in the face around 5:30 a.m. Following the shooting, a friend whisked him away from the scene, leaving behind a significant amount of blood and tissue that would later be discovered by responding officers.
